We've seen his mom, arguing with Millie's mum in that early storyline where Millie discovers Ozy's dad is not the horrendous monster she imagined.

What is it with cartoon kids and a severe lack of parenting? Look at Peanuts: you never saw the parents once! Where were the parents when all this happened! It's the breakdown of the family system before our eyes!

I believe there's some new reality show where 8 women who for whatever reasons cannot ever be impregnanted are competing for a CHILD. Which is pretty horrific.

Although I think I saw this on the Daily Show so it hopefully isn't real.

Gah! I hope that's not real!

(Don't tell the Fox Network about it, they'd probably do it.)
The adults in Peanuts have speech bubbles?!

I'm quite sure adults never appeared in the Peanuts comic strip (the tv show was an exception) because Schulz cited perspective problems and also the asthetic reasons of the strip itself, which is too diverse to explain shortly. But it is very wrong to think there were no parents. True they didn't even get speech bubbles but the children often talked of them (Charlie Brown's father was a barber, there were many strips on this) and occasionally talked to them. Then of course there were the teachers (Linus' Mrs. Othmar) and principals (one principal who left to devote his life to raising his cat), doctors (when Charlie Brown was hospitalized) (Here Patty and Marcia talked to secretaries too), secretaries, psychiatrists and so many others i can't remember. And what about Snoopy, Spike, Andy and Olaf? They were probably ahead in dog years.

Hmm it seems i'll defend Peanuts to the death.

Actually, adults appeared in Peanuts once, a long time ago. Lucy and Charlie Brown were playing in a golf tournament, and you could see adults in the background (but only from the chest down).

Schulz said he would never do it again because of the aforementioned perspective and aesthetic reasons.

One of the strips with adults present is in the book "Peanuts: The Art of Charles M. Schulz."
