the Wholly Unofficial O&M Radio Project

Unofficial, because as of today, D.C. Simpson has no idea about it.

Yeah. I know. I'm an idiot, but let me explain.

No... wait... nobody wants to hear my explanation, so here we go with information.

Unless the site decides to shut me down, I would like to start up a radio-drama-like projecty thingie. I tried to start this up where I come from, but nobody really wanted to... then I got this great idea... THE INTERNET!

And that's where YOU come in! If you want to learn more about this, post here, and I'll give details on what exactly you need to do this!

I'll let you be pretty much... ANYBODY! Try-outs are for as long as we have places to spare!

By the way, you can't be Llewellyn... I'M Llewellyn... that's the one thing you can't (unless you're the author) take away from me!!!!

A radio drama, eh?

Millie wraps herself in a dark blanket and cackles. "Who knows what idiocy lurks in the brain of Felicia?"

As much as I like this I don't think I can get on since my voice doesn't fit the profile. Too deep for the children characters and too high for any adult characters.

meh I gave recording and editing a try. Want a listen?

Y'know you wanna...

I'll be HAPPY to listen to anybody's try-out! Just be sure to specify exactly WHO you are, and what strip you based the dialogue from.

As for microphone, it doesn't really matter. Just do whatever you have to do.

Program running? Recorder isn't really terribly bad, but it isn't terribly good, either. I would prefer it if you went and downloaded Audacity at http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

For whatever I may have missed, be free to just simply tell me, and I'll listen!

--Joshua L., the idiot who forced you all to come here.

If anyone does not have a microphone and needs one in order to try out. I have a spare that I can send to you.

Oops! I guess I should have told people earlier... if somebody knows the address to a nice, downloadable file-sharing site, could you please post said address here?

I... embarassingly don't know the address to any sites to upload and download from.

I'll be happy to listen to people's try-outs... starting Monday. If you upload before then, I guess it's up to the public to critique you before then! (of course, it's somewhat up to the public anyway... but...)

Anything else? Meh. GO NUTS!

I recall this one being infinitely better than rapids*** and some of the other ones.

Savefile is good, it just requires you to register.

Savefile it is, then. I'll get an account on Monday... that's tomorrow, if I'm not mistaken.

Anything to add? Maybe later today, I'll compile a few try-out strips for each character. Maybe someone would be willing to help? I just need some strips that show each character's range of emotions. Everyone but Llewellyn, because remember... I'M him.

Anyway.

If anyone would like to help me out, I'd appreciate it... verily.

Thank you for your patronage.

There. I'm registered at Savefile.

Why? I dunno. It just made sense. Anyway, I'm gonna go look around for suitable strips. Right now, I'm searching for Ozy. Millie is next, then Ms. Mudd.

That's my agenda. If anyone wants to interfere with this, and add other characters I haven't made a thing for yet, feel free to do so!

g'day, y'all.

Not to be a drag but I don't really see how this would work. Comics is a very visual media and I don't think Ozy and Millie would translate well to a purely audio media. You wouldn't even know what species characters are. I think if you want a radio show it would be best to go from scratch so you can develope something that is designed for the advantages and disadvantages of radio.

That all depends on the comics selected. We would want to start with the one that are mostly dialog and a few sound effects. Once you'll get experienced at making it sound right you can move on to the one that can be done with less dialog and more sound. Some of them could never be done with out some narration.
