Perhaps if somebody had a local newspaper in their hometown, they could persuede the newspaper(with DCS's poermission, of course!) to run the strip. But, there aren't any Sundays after mid-2001, nor the early strips, and that's sort of a problem.

o&m.net easily reaches more people than a small local newspaper ever would. Besides, DCS isn't aiming for syndication anymore, at least not with the current strip. He did have some ideas about doing a "dumbed down" version or something if he ever went for syndication again.

The way the comic is now, it wouldn't be great for most newspapers. It doesn't update on Saturdays, and DCS is likely to take days off without advance warning.

I like "Ozy and Millie" too much the way it is to see it changed simply to get into a newspaper. The way things are now, I don't think it's necessary per se (Of course, it would make the strip more notable, that is the argument). Of course, if D.C. really wanted that, more power to him. I'd still give him my support.

Q: Why isn't this strip in newspapers?

A: It's in a few. I've tried for more, and for syndication. Their loss.
So apparently it runs in a few papers (probably around Pullman, WA). As for how that works with a five-a-week strip with occasional, unexpected breaks, well, that's for him to answer.

A local newspaper would spread the word, and DCS would get paid for it. Plus, most local newspapers only run on Sundays(mine a town of 1500), so the daily strips would run on Sundays, more than one on the same page. They could also draw from the archive, because starting a newspaper's O&M from the present would cause too much confusion. Obviously, you'd want to start it about the same time as it first ran (April), so elections and christmas strips don't wind up in July.
