I think it's a general template that is embedded into our creative thinking.

Well, i don't think that O&M is really like that at all, aside from the meaningless fact (which is usually required to keep each strip somewhat self contained, even in the middle of a story arc)<br><br>I think that Mr. Simpson is like this though in a different way, in that <a href='

I think comic creators sometimes sypathise with their creations. This would leed them to feall sorry for their existance at times. What O and M strip were you thinking about The JAM?

Now who does that guy think he is? I don't find anything wrong with that particular format. Only when nothing original or inspired is added to the much-used method to make it a strip of it's own can the term "clich" can begin to be used. Ozy & Millie breaths a light into the popular format that makes it shine far more brighter than can be done by mocking it.

I saw the funny side when I read it, but after reading your remarks I suddenly see the mocking side which I didn't need.

i don't mean any offence in this, so please don't take this in the wrong way, but it sounds to me like what your saying is a comioc looks like a comic, or a book looks like a book.

I think that particular comic is satirizing not all comic strips that use that string of events but rather, as it says, the ones that don't use any emotional response from the audience. Let's face it almost every newspaper comic format has used this at least once.
