Raine Dog - D. C. Simpson's comic project

Today, D. C. Simpson wrote an entry in his LJ in which he gave the first solid information about it. In short, it will feature a world in which animals are as intelligent as people but still kept as pets.

I think that this is a very innovative setting. The general tone of the story about the heroine Raine seems to be rather dark, though, but that's okay for me. Most of my favourite "Ozy and Millie" strips are those with a philosophical tone.

But I would take no bet if D. C. Simpon manages it to write anything without the "Conservatives/Republicans are evil!" in the "Ha! In your face!" way.

Definitely interesting. The concept of the story reminded me a little of the Gene Catlow universe.

Interesting to say the least. I can't wait to see what DCS does with this somewhat darker idea.

the one at bottom center is a bit sad and disturbing
Yes, it really is. I can't wait to see this story. I've never been to LJ so I haven't seen much of this sort of thing. And it's CUTE too! =^.^=

humans weren't kept as pets. they just switched places with the Apes, meaning that they were the science expiriments. The only difference was that the Apes weren't as advanced as Humans had been, in an attempt to maintain control over the government and not let humans rise again (keep your country stupid, keep your country incapable of getting out of control)

I was talking about the Conquest of the Planet of the Apes.

Summary: A disease kills all cats and dogs so humans keep apes as pets.

mm. I only saw the whole series as a little kid and don't remember them. Other than that I've only seen the first two recently. I love them ^_^

I've said it in his journal, but I'll say it again: I think we can expect great things from this. Heck, just the idea of David do a book-length comic is intriguing.

My main reason for not sharing others' excitement is that we can expect updates of his other comics to slow down. Maybe he doesn't plan that, but I just know it'll happen.

Maybe this is what he's been doing with all his weekends.
