That strip will be hanging on my living room wall above my TV... the real one.. not a print... the actual real sketched and inked piece by Simpson himself!
And to top it off, Simpson's a great person to do business with!

Nice, also slightly off topic but when did the archives start having all the explantory text under each strip?

It just feels kinda cool owning a piece originally created by one of your favorite artists..
And heck... D.C.S just got a pretty big lumpsum of my paycheck 9_9
Okay... so maybe $100 is not really alot of money, but it can get a few good things accomplished... I get a comic srip by one of my favorite cartoonists.. in return Simpson may just use the money for more art supplies, or a month's supply of pizza..
In the end.. we all win.. right?

I've been meaning to get a strip by DC, but the whole "paying $100 for a comic strip" thing wouldn't appeal to my parents that well.

I dont think I'll ever let my family know the truth... I'd probasbly lie and say I got it as a gift or something... if they were to hear I purchased something like this for $100 I'd get lectures a plenty...
But that's the fun of living on my own.. nobody has to know my business -_o

Just tell them it cost you $20, or some other "doesn't make parents freak out" amount. Unless they keep track of your money or something.
In that case, collect small change you find on the sidewalk and put it in a Swiss bank account util you have $100, then link it to a PayPal account and pay for it with that

I'm surprised that it took this long for that strip to be sold. It's kinda a "fan favorite." But I guess it just goes to show how little business he gets from people buying originals.

Ah yes.. you even stated this in my DA journal (rarely get that much company when it comes to my sites =P )
It is quiet surprizing... even reading a few comments in the"What's your favorite strip" thread, I've come to realize that I've got myself a holy grail of some sort ^^

[EDITED]
That is not right. I wanted to buy several strips and sent him two emails in January, but I never got an answer from him (especially not after his announcement on 22th February to reply to unanswered emails in the next days).
Well, I am annoyed now. There seems to be no way for me to get a reaction from that man; not per email, not per posts in this forum and not per posts in his lifejournal.
I mean, it is nothing like "I love O&M, but could you explain me this or that..." but "I love O&M so much, that I want to spend several 100 $ for it."
Either he has a personal problem with me (no clue why), with Germans in general (what seems rather unlikely) or he is really *that* lazy at answering buying orders (what means, he really should reconsider his priorities).
Still loving O&M, though.
