O&M Radio Drama
OKAY: By now just about everyone knows I have a passion/annoying habit of creating voices and pretending I can voice act. I have a lot of creative energy pent up, and I have to let it out or else I will explode. It is because of this reason that I really would love to create a long MP3 of us O&M fans playing the characters and reading out the adventure which unfolded in the spring of 2001: "The Return of the Dread Pirate Locke!"

Basically, I've put together all of the dialouge from the strips from this date, to this date (minus the sunday strips) in script format, and that will be read out loud with you guys playing the characters.

Before we go on to recording, though, we need to have one thing in order: Someone with a reliable server has to be willing to host the final MP3 and maybe a few other sound files that we need to work together on. Anybody feeling generous at the moment? Please? It's a really good cause and it will get you kudos from everyone here!

Secondly, we need to decide who will play who. Here are the voices that need to be filled:

Ozy
Llewellyn
Millie
Capt. Locke
Announcer Voice
Isolde
Random Female Adult
Ms. Mudd

Everyone break out their microphones! In order for you to try out for a character though, keep a few things in mind: 1, make sure that you clearly annunciate every word you say so it's easy to hear you, and 2, try and keep the file of a high quality EVEN IF it means you've got a huge wav file on your hands. 3rdly, I really don't think any one person should play more than 3 characters at once, that's just not fair.

I've got a plan for organizing all of this, so I'll take the hard part and be in charge of this thing. I'll go into more detail about how we'll get all of the wav files together and into one long MP3 later, once we've got all of the character voices decided.

Okay, record yourself saying some lines as the character of your choice, and post a link to your wav/mp3 here! We'll all decide together who plays who, so it's fair. Ready... set... GO!
Great! The announcer was someone I was afraid wouldn't get picked too quickly, but it's an important role. Feel free to pick up some recording software, but really window's Sound Recorder is all you need, if you have it. Good luck!

I'd certainly like to throw my hat into this one... As far as I'm aware, my recording stuff should be good to go. I'd seriously think about doing Ozy, Llewellyn, Locke, Isolde, or maybe Random Female Adult. =D

Well I throw my voice in when I get the time, Prolly tomorrow, but I don't know if my voice will actually fit anyone

Sure, why not? I was tempted to try for the Llewellyn part, but then again, I doubt I can muster a good enough muahaha should this open up to other story arcs. Just about all the other parts seem out for me since a ten-year-old voice is bound to be well beyond my abilities. I am sure I would be a good narrator, but it looks like there are plenty of people ready for that too, and without any particular character attached to it, that part could literally go anywhere.

Heh, I'm glad so many people are up for this! Unfortunately, I'm going to have to put it on hold for a bit- My father suffered a mild heart attack yesterday, so naturally things are hectic around here. I'm not going to be able to check back here for a couple of days at least, but feel free to keep posting thoughts and ideas for the drama.

HEY, If you don't have a microphone, go get one! We can't pass up the perfect voice because of technicalities!!

Sorry to here your father had a heart attack.

Quote: (Jacob)

As for the play, we should insert an extra scene where Locke plays the mandolin. I'm not sure why, but there must be hundreds of sea shanties, i'm sure i can find an appropiate one for him.

hmm a Locke lead intermission would work.

Are we just going to post a link to the voice additions here or should we do that somewhere else.
