Ah, was it a scandal...that explains a lot. Weird name for a scandal.

EDIT: Did a search on these forums and found this:

BTW Teapot Dome was an oil field set aside for the US Navy, The field was secretly leased to friends of the Secretary of the Interior for private exploitation, and received substantially "loans" in return. People found out, there was a huge scandal and in trial the Secretary was found guilty of accepting bribes. OOh and this was all in the 1920's.

Thanks Bronte!

Huh, I didn't relate it to the Monica Lewinski scandal. I thought it was an embarrasing nickname Lewellyn had years back.

A blackhead is a, uh... It's a pimple. Something usually associated with the teen years.

I thought it meant when someone has something blow up in their face so they've got scorch marks all over their head, but your explination suits fine as well.

It's Ozy making a pun at Millie's expense. I suppose Millie's hard work at playing a pun on him is rubbing off, yet he is content with merely catching her in them before she can.. You know we all like taking the opportunity to use a pun when the right events fall into place.

It's like a pimple, but it's lower profile; small and in the form of a little black dot. It's nice to see a strip where Ozy is actually smiling.

Yeah, he's mostly only smiling when he's alone.

Oh, and what did Oscar Wilde say for this one?

I'm guessing it was, "Too much of a good thing..." Actually, I'm a little confused about the pin comment. I assume she's saying she feels like she is about to pop.

I was thinking maybe "Be careful what you wish for, you might get it," but I don't know if Wilde ever said that. He did, however, say:

"There are only two tragedies in life: one is not getting what one wants, and the other is getting it."
He said "LOOK, EGGPLANT HEAD..."
And what Millie said means she wants to drain all the icecream out of her through a pin hole.

Ok, here's a few questions that haven't been answered:

- First up, what's an "amway distributor"? -

There is a company called Amway that sells cheap junk (like tupperware) to people in bulk with the intention of the people selling the junk to others locally for a slight profit. Typically, this is done by walking door to door, asking people if they want to buy the junk.

- why would they keep candy from Avery? -

I assume that Avery makes a nusance(sp?) of himself around the neighborhood. If the neighbors can't tell who he is, then they won't give him less candy.

- what's a neo-dadaidist? -

I'll look it up, but where did that come from?

- Dr. Wasinnig's line here -

It's probably another way of calling the principal flakey. That and waffles are funny.

- this one -

Idaho (a US state) is well known for it's potatoes, and has large potato farms.

- I don't understand the phrase "stupid is as stupid does" -

A few years ago, a rather popular movie came out named Forrest Gump, it which the main character (Forrest Gump) is mentally retarded. "Stupid is as stupid does" was a quote from the movie.
Still mostly here.
