Wait, I dug up another old strip that is relevant to what I was talking about when Millie wound fall asleep on his shoulder, and they would watch the sun-rise.

http://www.ozyandmillie.org/2002/om2002 ... r>
Only with what i was thinking, it would be in color, and CG'd.

You see this ten foot pole. I'm not touching this subject with it.

We're just having some hypothetical fun. And when anyone says "should" (as in "Ozy and Millie should fall in love,") I'm sure they mean "I don't seriously think this should happen and I wouldn't want Dave's comic altered on the whim of my opinion, but it sure would be nice if..." Hehe, that pic is awesome. Double yay for Laura Howell!

On a side note, that picture's the kind of thing I could really use in my life right now... screw the romance part if necessary.

There is a big deal of differing opinions I'd have about this entire thing. I personally would welcome any direction DC cares to take the ongoing story of Ozy and Millie, and feel there is no specific direction it "should" take in this. The direction it "will" take is not up to me, and I am neither privileged to enough to enough information nor am I a good enough forecaster to say with any confidence what their fates will be.

That said, I find it unlikely they will be much more of a romantic couple than they are now. At present, there may be the friendship that causes friends to suspect they are a couple, but little beyond that, and personally, I like how that dynamic works. If you increase it too much, Felicia would be justified in her ignorant simplification, and we'd also have this awkwardness of seeing them being a couple. Too much less, and they would seem too distant to lead the strip as the title characters, and much of its charm would be lost to a cold relationship. Actually, I think the way that pair are matched up fits much better with the childhood friendships I used to have much better than any of the other directions people propose. Being able to identify with them really helps make this strip an endearing one for me to read.

Of course, I'm not saying it's impossible for their friendship to develop into something, I mean it seems to have developed into something special already. They have originally been this pair that hardly knew each other, and in the space of a few years (our time) they've become comfortable with each others' quirks and have adjusted to them in a very natural way. No matter what happens, I'd like to happen on its own accord, and not be too forced towards a set goal like "Ooh, they should totally be a couple!" or, "I want them to be just friends forever." I'd rather listen to words of wisdom and "Let it Be."

ok I'll put my 2 cents in

I dont think anything will happen between them unless the endup beeing sperated for a while.

example: Ozy goes to a dragon collage, and millie goes to law school. I think then they would end up missing each other and "date" as a whay to spen time with one another.

my reasoning for this is as it stances the are best friends in hight school they'll prolly be like brother and sister and later decied to date one another.

Edit: but persnaly I prefer them as bestfriends at the age of 10.

However, I, too would accept their current level of friendship as well.

But I wouldn't mind seeing a romance between Ozy and Millie, either... but, then again, maybe that's just me.

In the end it's up to D.C.Simpson, and I'd support whatever decision he makes on the issue.
