It stopped running for some reason, I presume because the creator stopped drawing it. A month later, the newspaper's staff artist, John Rose, started drawing it almost identically to its original form (a bit less detailed), with slightly different jokes, and it's been running under the title Snuffy Smith for the past few years.

Barney Google has a much longer history than that, spanning back to 1919. It was also one of the few honoured with a postage stamp back in the 1995 anniversary of comics. I don't follow it, so I can't say if it's still any good. Incidently, John Rose is the main artist for the strip now, not just that single paper's.

Perhaps a mini-story about Ozy and Millie in college, that wasn't canonical, could be made for a book.

It'll be cool if he put Ozy & Millie strips in the newspaper. I would then have a good reason for complaining about the paper mashe' in art class having them rip up good comics
Yes, I see the light now, but nothing else.

Perhaps not, if David found an adequate middle ground it might work.

However newspaper strip sizes aren't all that suitable. It'll lose something.

I don't have a problem with it though, it's David decision in the end.

I, on one hand, feel selfish and want the strip to remain outside the mainstream, because I like being part of something different. On the other, however, I want O&M to get a massive reading and everyone to realise how good it is, and for DCS to make some money off the back of it.
The end is nigh!
