I think the results speek forthemsleves. I veiw Ozy and Millie like my childeren. I don;t ever want to think of them dating.

Wait....

I have childeren?

Actually, in my opinion, the results are kind of mixed... Yes, the most votes came on the "They shouldn't go beyond their current level of friendship" choice, but it is by no means a majority...

It's nice to see so many opinions about this, and I certainly respect them... It's the sign of a very healthy comic, as well as a very healthy community.

Nobody knows for sure which way DCS will take on this issue (Ozy and Millie would seem the obvious choice, however, we may still wind up with Ozy and Isolde getting married to throw a wrench into the comic, but that seems unlikely after Ozy burned the marriage papers... Of course, the papers can always be re-written...), but it would be interesting to find out.

Quote: (Talitha @ Aug 30 2004, 02:52 PM)

The joke "Why is 6 afraid of 7" is cute enough, but I really don't believe that there's any philosophy to it. It's a short, punchline joke that's meant for a breif tickle of the funny bone. To anyone sensiable enough, 6 and 7 is more logical then 6 and 9 simply because...

7 ate 9! *SHOT*

But for the sake of the intended topic, I think that it could go either way, but I believe that if Ozy and Millie wished to start a romance, they should/would wait until they are at least teenagers.

I always found the subject itself curious when including Felicia. I'm not quite sure whether or not Felicia actually thinks Ozy is Millie's "boyfriend" or if she just wishes to bug Millie, but either way it presents two different veiws of her character.

A. If she does believe Ozy and Millie to be dating, then I'm assuming she harrasses Millie about it because she's jealous. As far as I know Felicia does NOT have a "boyfriend", but she seems interested in it enough. That short storyline when we found out that Stephen liked her was proof enough for me.

Or...

B. If she only teases Millie about it simply to harass her then Felicia is a hypocrit. A few comic strips after that very "What about THIS?" strip, Felicia approaches Millie and plainly says she had her mom take her to the mall to buy cool clothes so boys would like her, so that she's coooler then her again. Thats's either hypocrisy or ego, and while ego is more likely as she sees herself as "cooler" then Millie, hypocrisy coming from her would not surprise me all that much.

If Millie actually WAS dating Ozy at the age of 10 (God forbid) then that in theory would make Millia cooler then Felicia, since Millie was at least able to attract at least ONE boy. Felicia on the other hand remains dateless.

Personally, concerning the romance, I think when they're older it's entirely possible Ozy and Millie start dating. If Millie's so "uncool" and "weird", she might have a hard time attracting any boy at her school, other then Ozy. The two of them are certainly sophisticated enough.

Wow...good analysis. I'm thinking A. Felicia is DEFENTILY jealous. I think it's the snobby-ness that makes her boy-proof. I would go into a big rant on how Ozy and Millie might end up together, but I already did a few pages back. ****, i'll do it again.

Okay, say we're in am Ozy dream sequence (but we don't know that) and Ozy starts feeling 'closer' to Millie. After awhile, he realizes he likes her, and is thus, freaked out. He goes to Stephan, but we would probally get some nerdy resonse out of him. So Ozy desides in the middle of the night (5:00am, I dunno.) and Ozy confesses how he feels. Millie is kind of shocked, and doesn't know what to say. In the end, Millie is told by Ozy not to worry right now, and just relax. It then cuts to a beautiful scene of a glowing sun-rise, colored and C.G'd.

Ozy then wakes up, hoping that it wasn't a dream, and realized everything was back to normal. As the final gag of the storyline, Ozy 'sneak-attack' hugs Millie, and says "I'm glad things are the way they are." she's startled, goes "ACK"! And swats Ozy with her tail. She turns around and says:"Oh, Ozy, it's you. Don't sneak up on me like that!" and he'll be thinking, *yup, defentily back to normal*.

Sorry, no more 9 and 6 jokes. The top choice has 10 votes now.

Felicia being jealous of Millie is a good theory, but I prefer to think that it is just a way to get on Millies nerves.

take this strip for example

The hypothesis that Felicia is tormenting Millie just because of jealousy is certainly not out of the question. It sounds very reasonable, actually.
But the idea that Felicia is just one of your stuck-up jerks is not out of the question either.
As to the idea of Ozy and Millie being together, um, NOT now, really, but maybe later.

Oh, I have no doubt in my mind Felicia is a stuck-up jerk. I had to deal with people like her all my life, and I'm a sensitive type of gal, you know...

But there's a theory out there that bullies bully you to make themselves feel better. While half the time I believe that to be bullcrap, I think, observing Felicia's character so far, that it's possible in some way Felicia is jealous of Millie.

While it may not mean anything, Felicia has acknowledged Millie's intelligence and common sense.

There is also the possiblity as well that Felicia bullies Millie to keep her own popularity up.

I personally think it's a combination of all of the above. Many different reasons, so why not?

But really, I wouldn't know. I've never been "popular", and I don't care to be. As far as I'm concerned, "popularity" in itself is a load of bullcrap. That's why I actually like Felicia. Stereotypes always crack me up.

But Millie will ALWAYS be 1#.

I doubt Felicia even considers why she's bugging Millie, she just does it cuz she's her.

I'm going by what the strip says, obviously Rap hasn't gone mainstream yet in the O&M world.
