Archive folder?

Does such a thing as a folder of all the O&M strips (up to a certain date) exist? If so, where?

If not, then I guess I have to go from the first strip to the last, clicking 'save as'

At one point, DCS offered .zip downloads of all the years up to the current date. I got all the ones for 1997-2005 and then manually downloaded all of them for 2006 and 2007 using the "Build Gallery" feature of the FlashGot extension for Firefox. I recently went back and grabbed a few that I missed because they were in a different file format I forgot to include the first time around. I can upload them if you're interested.

I have a full download of all the strips plus the colored house rules strips (plus a few colored ones just posted randomly on DC).

I'm weird, I know. I'm like a comic strip pack rat.

I'll 7-zip them up and upload to my website if you guys want. It's about 230mb uncompressed.

Must be the colored ones taking up all the space. The black-and-white ones I have are under 100 MB in total.

7zip probably won't help too much, as the pictures are already compressed, but I guess every megabyte counts.

You better believe it. Size was 180mb compressed. Not bad considering most of it is JPEG which isn't gonna compress well since JPEG is a compressed format to begin with. GIF is not, btw, AFAIK.

I'm gonna take out the colored strips and recompress though. That'll remove most of the JPEGs and get a much smaller size.

This also won't include filler strips (sketches and stuff) but it does have guest strips.

New uncompressed size is 90mb. Also it'll be a self-extracting archive. But you should be able to open .7z archives anyway, because they are awesome. :O

[Edit: Weird... guess JPEGs must compress better than GIF, only shaved 1mb off it this time.]

I'm loving the red line on the black background with the quote... but the rest of the site is mysteriously missing O.o

Whatchoo talkin' 'bout, Willis? Sure GIF is compressed. It uses LZW (OK I was wrong too; I thought for sure it used run-length because of those samples that show a vertical gradient compressing better than a horizontal one).
