To be fair, I always hated those types of shows as a kid. As if talking to the TV would change anything about the program at all.

In the future television systems will be linked more intricately to houses allowing certain parts of the population to interact in real time with certain shows designed for such interaction. It will be the next step up from simply calling in to speak live on air.

Some shows actually do this w/ the internet now. ie: Cops 2.0, Movies on Demand and etc.
