Pfft. I was saying this to myself from elementary school to senior year.

I like this, although it feels too talky. Millie's first sentence isn't really necessary, or could at least be pared down.

It is a little known fact that Goeth was an avid mineral collector - so much so to that a mineral was named after him (Goethite), which is an iron oxide mineral commonly found on Mars! ISN'T THAT SO COOL AND INTERESTING
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

That's only because you've been reading Goatkcd.

Though I will admit, that is the worst type of deception right there.

The philosophical-ness is kinda killed by Millie's comment...but whatever.

I believe that was the whole idea-that even children can deceive themselves.

Millie's slack-jawed expression of numb disbelief is basically perfect.

They both look confused, as if they were sitting there flying kites and the sign just sort of rose up from behind the treeline.

For the reference, I would have put the actual content instead of just "Goatse" but I don't think it would be appreciated by the mods

Man, goatse was my very first shock site... the memories!

And the funny thing is, when I was first ventured across it I was new to the internet in general. So upon seeing it I didn't even think it was a shock site, just a regular porn site, and I was like "man, the internet is STRANGE."
