The political tat in this thread should be split off and killed with fire.
That.

We're not going to go to a universal government-run healthcare system. Not for a long time. It's just not the American way.
Saying something for the good of man can't be achieved is not the American way.

You communist.

The political tat in this thread should be split off and killed with fire.
Too much strain on the regular forum-goer; the old lumbering, inefficient but familiar system will stay.

Saying universal government-run healthcare is for the good of man is strictly opinion.

If you choose to identify my 'for the good of man' with universal healthcare that's your call. I meant it as a general statement.

That is how that quote string + reply would be interpreted, yes.

I, for one, would hate to give up my government healthcare for privatized healthcare.

The Democrats have been trounced in yesterday's elections-in places that have been traditional Democratic strongholds. I guess the "douchebags" aren't going to want to be associated with Obama so much after all.

Of course people don't want to give up their existing health care system. Ever heard of the phrase "The devil you know"? Applies to all of us.

What, for saying that Americans aren't so enthusiastic about Obama's proposal for national health care? That Obama isn't so popular as he was at the beginning? I'm only reporting facts, folks-and explaning why the Democrats aren't all blindly following his lead, nothing more.

I know I'm not supposed to discourage new members

The worst part about the influx of conservatives on DC is that I read every thread, and I never know when I'm about to see a normal post, or a boring IRT-refugee post.
Apologies to everyone. Except Fritz.
First of all, Fritz, do yourself a favor and research your own answers before you post.
