I personally believe this forum will not die. we'll tell our friends about this place, we'll tell strangers about this place. As, long as we've got the archived Ozy and Millie strips, hope, and possibly stumbleupon ( which is awesome if you've never heard of it), we will not go down! (at least not without a fight)

Nein. Every board dies eventually.

How's THAT for a pessimistic slap in the face.

Edit: Haha, this was my 3,000th post.
It's the Year 2537. You return from moon farming exhausted. As your space boots remove themselves from your feet, you sink into the nearest floating chair. "Tina" you say to your Home Intelligence System© whom you prize for having such a historic name, "display the Ultramegaweb." A pedestal rises from the floor where there once was carpet. With an almost eerie but familiar glow, it projects a shimmering 3-Dimensional image in the middle of the room. As the lights dim and your eyes begin to adjust to the light, the glowing 3D webpage comes into view. Somethingawful.com.

I used to be an admin at a board which was devoted to an online game. (Arloest was, too.) As time went on, the board stopped focusing on the game and became a haven of general nonsense. But, that's when it was at its BEST. We were a close-knit community and had some amazingly fun times. Eventually the game pretty much died, but the forum stayed around. People left, and new people came, although the former happened faster than the latter, and eventually the board died. But dammit, it was a heck of a ride. It was literally like the board went through a full, human-like life cycle, complete with angsty teenage years, middle age, a happy peaceful retirement, and a painless death.
Actually, I remember the whole board being divided near the end over a big conflict involving Spencer and the architects. There was lots of yelling and Becky was making a fuss and everything was hostile. The conflict eventually subsided, but the board never really recovered.
Scheiße, I had forgotten all about that. I guess I had blocked it out.

We need lots of bright lights, a fog of incense, inspirational music, smoke effects, some 'special' additions to the water supply, wall to wall murals of epic scenes throughout history and a big glass dome where a hologram constantly depicts a magnificient sunset or storm if this forum is to end well.

Anything other than that is a betrayal of the values Tim Wonnacott gave his life so unselfishly for.

No we will not.
Yes we do. Without me suggesting it to him, Javs would never have joined.

Don't try to give us those lies Baconsticks. Everyone knows that butterflies don't exist.
