As someone else has mentiond the apostraphy used by MS Word does not cut and past itno the forums. I have also been dealign with this problem. I have foudn a solution, however. I Copy and Past my writing from MS Word into MS Notepad first. I then copy adn past from Notepad into the frorum field second. This gets the corect apostaphy in my clipoard before I paste into the browser. I hope this helps soembody.

Alternatively, just disable the "smart quotes" option in MS Word's AutoFormat

Alternatively just write in the reply box in the forums.

I don't see how. In either way you're writing what you want, except when you write in Word (or Notepad) you're going to the extra length of having to copy & paste what you wrote, whereas if you just wrote in the reply box all you need to do is click a button.

Well, nobody is actually writing their posts in Word. They're getting the problem when copying it from other sources on the Internet.

Well apparently some people are having trouble with how Word apostrophes turn out in the forum, so some tansfering from Word to the forum must be happening, right.

I'm not going mad am I? Am I?

Yes, you are. the only reason somebody would have this happen is if they were posting something they got off of somebody else's website where the apostrophies were funky. I don't think people actually type in other programs and then copy what they type merely so that they can make a post on DC

I'll have to insert an advertisement of Mac OS X here. It spellchecks most text boxes. That is to say, spell check is a system-wide feature, not a program specific feature. This means less work for programmers to add support in places that traditionally didn't warrant the extra effort. Sorry, I'll shut up now.
