I define myself to be on the outside!
I was reminded of this riddle when I saw this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDvlO9q6qWk&feature=fvw

It is considered to be in extremely poor taste to mention the number two hundred eighty-eight amongst mixed company. Why?

MATHEMATICAL!

There are 7 children on a bus,

Every child has 7 bags,

There are 7 big cats in every bag,

Every big cat has 7 little cats.

QUESTION - How many feet are there?

by my research, the average school bus measures at about 37 feet.
and my math told me that there should be 10992 feet... assuming I didn't punch anything in wrong. It took me a while to remember that children only have two feet not four, and that there is probably a bus driver on the bus as well.

on which count? the theory that cats do not have feet, or the theory that these kids have broken onto a bus in the middle of the night and are letting loose thousands of cats inside (with no chaperone)?

You're just bitter I didn't indulge in your attempt to make the riddle into something else.

I dunno but re: "Paws are on their feet" I think you mean pads, I think the things on a cat's foot are called pads and the whole thing together is a paw
