Have you people heard of this?

excellent rave music.
Oxymoron.
No it's not.
It could just be me, but I'd rather circumsize myself with a rusty tuna fish can lid than listen to rave music.

Well okay, but you know, there's a difference between bad music and music that doesn't personally appeal to you.

it has to be a joke that the song is statistically the most likeable song in the world; that, or the scientist has autism or something and thinks you can define something like that?

I'll bet this is like that woman who started the rumor about eating spiders in your sleep, to prove a social experiment about how people accept false statements as fact from bad sources

Notice this experiment is from... 1996, I think?

Also, we're not exactly the most mainstream group of people.

The "wanted" piece of music comes across like music in the background of "The Weather Channel".

The "unwanted" piece of music is making my coworkers cry with laughter.

Another thing to note is that these are the most wanted and unwanted songs in THE UNITED STATES, the area to which is where they limited their surveys. Many websites leave that part out, or come out and incorrectly say that these are the most wanted and unwanted songs in the world.

I'd rather have it only in the U.S. It would be too messed up to mix it with other cultures, and not as interesting. Now that we have some for my own culture, however, it would be neat to hear one for the whole world.

The scientist is a scientist. Scientists do this sort of thing. No autism required.

I've always secretly daydreamed about a magic program that would analyze my brain and from that download what would be my 5,000 most favorite songs in existence. That's all you would need!
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

It would be interesting to see how many of the songs in your music collection now are in that 5,000.

Me? I'm just a lawnmower. You can tell me by the way I walk.
I know what I like, and I like what I know;
getting better in your wardrobe, stepping one beyond your show.

I'm watching you  .

If such a program did exist, it would analyze a person's brain, figure out their musical preferences, then completely disregard them and download 5000 songs which are almost, but not quite, entirely unlike music.

To be fair you could just give a detailed explanation as to what music is... It worked for Arthur Dent and the whole tea thing...

True. :D It did almost get them all killed, though...
