I don't know why I'm doing this, so first off don't bother to ask. I got the random idea to create a furry character who's designed from the ground up to be a walking pile of clichés, and then release it into the wild under an open license (sort of like Jenny Everywhere) and see what happens from there.
The character I have come up with is a female klee kai named Klee Shay. I think I finally pinned down the outfit, which was giving me the most trouble.
I'm still sketchy about the color scheme. The first set of colors I tried just made me sick, which isn't what I was going for, plus they were unlike any color scheme I'd ever seen on a character which kind of defeats the whole "cliché" thing. I figure showing this to people who might not have seen the original colored version might get me some good ideas.

That looks good so far Pocket.
As for the color scheme, I'd suggest bright neon colors in order to make her look like a walking zeitgeist, like the iPod Nano colors. Bright, catchy, and annoying is the word of the day, man.

you say releasing it to open license, but doesn't that only apply to the actual drawings you've made? I always believed that all the little internet artists who say "(SORRY NOT MY CHARACTERS, X (c) ABC, Y (c) DEF, and Z (c) GHI)" were just being extremely protective and naive about how much they think you can own something.
I like watching porn of Doog...

But are they really more popular? They're called "sparkledogs" for a reason.Fox would be more cliche. She's a dog, fool.
Of course. But most people won't use other people's characters except in something that's meant as gift art, fan art, or whatever you want to call it. Klee Shay is going to explicitly belong to everyone.you say releasing it to open license, but doesn't that only apply to the actual drawings you've made?
