I wasn't expecting it, but that was because DCS said he wanted to get the ending right. I was picturing an idyllic wedding with maybe a little mayhem caused by Millie, though not too much because all characters are on the cusp of moving on; O&M are soon to leave childhood behind.
Me likey these happenings. I can't work out what his objection will be though, if DCS stays true to previous conventions of the characters.
As for polygamy, O&M is yet to jump the shark.
And Locke is left-handed? I never noticed that before.

So the makings of another Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, then?...Wow. Up til now this storyline has been creeping along like a beat-up old Ford Fairlane. And now all of a sudden it sprouted huge wings, monster truck tires, and a rocket pack, and shot into the sky. And then exploded, showering downtown Cleveland in flaming scrap MEHTUL and setting several vehicles and pedestrians on fire.
also, this strip caught me by surprise, and it verily awesome.

I was wondering about Locke showing up in this exact manner just before the actual wedding started, but quickly forgot about him as the ceremony unfolded, as things had become very complex and romantic. I have to applaud D.C. for making a plot twist that was somewhat predictable still surprising and interesting. That takes a lot of skill as a storyteller to pull off.

I'm thinking of Robin Hood: Men in Tights, in which King Richard objects to the wedding only so he can follow royal tradition by kissing the bride. I don't think Locke can claim any such rule, tho.
