I loved the strip, but couldn't help but notice those big, open picture windows in a goth extablishment seem a little out of place.
Hey...that's a very good point. Surely they let in way too much light for their tastes. I always picture the underground coffee shop with extremely low lighting. Been in one of those places only once and for me, once was enough. Yeah...I'm not goth material.

Appropriately, "tween" is twee.
i see no good coming from a sheep approaching 3 dogs?
Hey, she picks on foxes all the time. Tho now that you mention it, these canids are older and more numerous....

Heh, this strip is awesomeness. :D
gforce422 is awesome because:
-He made the absolute nicest comments about me in the other topic. I didn't respond to them yet, because I suck, but they are greatly appreciated! =D
-I would say he would also be a good runner up as one of the nicest people alive.
-He joined the IRC sometimes. But not enough, I say! Chat moar =D
-He is evidently only 18 year old but he could easily pass for 25. =D
-He is a drummer like *I* am and this in itself is cool.

It occurs to me today that even Felicia's thoughts contain an excess of "likes."

First things first
*points to the dog in the middle in frame 2*
Is that a cosplay of who I think it is? It looks awefully familiar.

Decondly, it's going to be somewhat saddening to be rejected from joining with the goths... hehe... or maybe she'll make friends? We'll see.

EDIT: Anyone have a "decond" opinion? Typo that I shall not fix.

You're suggesting that the middle goth is supposed to resemble Raine? I think that's a stretch, but perhaps we'll get a better look with the next update.

The World of Darkness game? They don't seem like the type of people who would (er, play an RPG, I mean). It's a possibility, though.

I agree with what has been said about the coffee house having too much outside light. I've been to a few Starbucks (for hot chocolate) and there are a few that work, but that's also because they're built so they're mostly away from the sunlight at times. Other times during the winter when the sky is overcast does it fit better to the gothic atmosphere.

But frankly, I just feel sorry for Felicia. I'm one of those who harbours little to no hate for anyone, and as a contrast, a lot of compassion for those who are like Felicia, one who would ask the question of why she chooses to be mean-spirited. But since she embraced the Goth lifestyle, I've developed a greater sense of sympathy. Perhaps it's my own gothic side kicking in, combined with a desire for serenity; and finally that I'm a social outsider.

I loved the strip, but couldn't help but notice those big, open picture windows in a goth establishment seem a little out of place.
Well, maybe that's how the shop was originally built before Cruel Beans moved in. Businesses move in and out of places all the time. It's probably somewhere downtown, or in a mall (then the windows would just be for effect (which would be awesome), unless it's got an outside wall of the food court), or even in a strip mall (to reflect the dull expansionism and commercialism of our mundane society, of course). Or maybe it's just some random coffee shop where the goths chose to hang out, perhaps because of the apropos name.

...wait, middle schoolers [are allowed to] drink coffee now? What the hell? I mean, I acquired a taste for cafe lattes in high school, but-- I- high school.
could it be that she was the sister of the boy in Kansas who loved the girl with the tattered shawl who was the daughter of the maid who had escaped from the pirates?

I've been drinking coffee since I was six.

And in 18th-century England, children typically drank ale from age 3. Doesn't make it a good idea.

Well, it was either that or cholera-ridden water.
