For some reason, with that monocle, I keep mentally hearing Llewellyn saying in a Stephen Fry-ish voice, "They say of the Acropolis, where the Parthenon is..."

I don't know who Stephan Fry is, so I'm going to pretend he sounds like Stephan Colbert.

First, about the re-imaginings of Ozy, Millie and Llewellyn: I assume this is an experiment and not a permanent shift. The re-designs look okay so far, but I think DJS needs to to get used to this more realistic style to really make it work.

Second, at the risk of taking this thread off-topic: Has anyone else noticed who's missing from the pic? Millie's mom isn't there. I wonder why that is? I know that Ms. Mudd isn't as colorful as the other three, but she's a strong character who had some good scenes in the recent "bully" arc, and I believe she deserves more consideration.

Ms. Mudd isn't in there because I don't think it is a "parents and children" portrait. Ms Mudd isn't missing from it, as she's not supposed to be in it. If she was, then D.C.S. would notice before posting it on the website. But anyways, it's only filler art, it doesn't have to show every single "strong and important" character that has good scenes in certain arks.

Heh, I think the real answer, is that she just didn't fit on the page. :-P

Eh, I'm not liking this style. But that's just me.
Whew, I thought I was alone on this one. I didn't like this style too much, either. Millie
looks somewhat... scary...
edited to my liking

I like the style, i know it's not the usual, but I like that it gives more detail of the characters. I wonder if he'll plan to do a whole panel in this style in the future, I wouldn't mind seeing it :)

Everybody's said what i have to say, but I agree that they look older/interesting, and Llewellyn is a tad creepy.
And it would be interesting to see an actual strip in this style, or at least full-body portraits of all the significant characters.
And woo for Gray Ozy-eyes.

Ghostway, I've got that bit stuck in my head now. Thanks a lot.
Argh, me too.

For the culturally deprived, this is Stephen Fry talking about the Acropolis where the Parthenon is.

Talking about the style, is it done in water colour? It's not computer coloured - is it?
