Dunno. The Hawaiian punch guy always seemed pleased with his job. Especially the parts of his job that involved suckerpunching people when they opened the fridge for a drink.
That which does not kill me, cripples me for life.

I've never heard that expression before. Not even my TV worshipping Gran says that!

I've never heard that before, unfortunately.

What hasn't anyone here ever heard of Punch & Judy? Cripes, they've only been doing Punch & Judy shows since the mid 1600's. You know, the puppet show with a man and his wife where the man chases his wife around with a giant bat.

If that were the case, wouldn't "psychotic as Punch" be more appropriate? ;)

Doesn't sound as alliterative.

No, I don't.

Not everyone gets the same TV shows...

(EDIT: Or watches puppet shows, apparently)

Really. No one's heard it. That's odd. Now, it's not in my vocabulary personally, but I've heard it used plenty of times, in casual conversation, in books, and on tv, I guess. Tho I haven't actually watched tv for years.
Next you're going to tell me you've never heard "tickled pink" or "happy as a clam" before. :)

Cameron is awesome because:
-Because he has an artistic style that is both complex and minimalist. This is profound!
-He once drew me as a roadrunner. It was an actual honest to god feral roadrunner, but a roadrunner nonetheless!
-He lives in Idaho among the wilderness and stuff and I envy him for that. 3:
-He is probably one of the most personable artists on here.
-I think he's the only one of us on here who drew a fanart that made it as a guest strip on O&M. This is an accomplishment!

I've heard the former, but not the latter.

Is that where the phrase comes from? I've always thought it an odd saying as well.

Heh, I"ve heard about it - its one of those phrases that sinks into the lanuage, till people don't even conciously recall where it same from - and up, its from a 400 year old puppet show.

Also, I gotta say I'm impressed how DCS has been exploring so many new poses for O&M lately.

I've heard all three phrases on a regular basis, I didn't realize they were obscure.

Origins of the phrase

How can anyone not know about Punch & Judy?
If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. (Revelation 2:5, NIV)
