Oh, it was an anime reference?
No wonder I didn't get it. The only thing I've found entertaining from Japan is Takeshi's Castle...and that was pushing it.
EDIT - Actually, I forgot that Ringu and the original "Grudge" are Japanese....those films rock, but for some reason I always end up thinking that they're South Korean.
