In spite of what I said earlier, I see Ozy as the secondary character. Millie is the one who gets up to all these crazy antics, and Ozy follows her around and joins in. It's very rare to see Ozy come up with an adventure; he is more of the voice of reason and the means of execution.
Yet, the strip is called "Ozy and Millie", not "Millie and Ozy"...
I have a feeling it's titled this way because "Ozy and Millie" flows better than "Millie and Ozy"

but iono, that's my thought.

Ozy and Millie sounds better then Millie and Ozy.

Millie: Millicent Mehitabel Mudd. A little fox tomboy (though she probably hates that term), ten years old, torn between her thoughtfully introspective side, and her destructive side. The hero of our meandering story

And yet, Ozy gets top billing and has probably appeared in more strips than Millie.

Top Billing is simply because of aural aesthetics. if he's had more time, then that's odd, if Millie is the true hero of the comic.

DCS indicated once that he was going to call it "Millie & Ozy" but changed it out of respect for convention. You see, in most comedy duos, the more deadpan one is listed first (e.g., Abbott and Costello). I think the idea is that the punchline comes at the end.

According to Google Fight, the winner is....
gforce422 is awesome because:
-He made the absolute nicest comments about me in the other topic. I didn't respond to them yet, because I suck, but they are greatly appreciated! =D
-I would say he would also be a good runner up as one of the nicest people alive.
-He joined the IRC sometimes. But not enough, I say! Chat moar =D
-He is evidently only 18 year old but he could easily pass for 25. =D
-He is a drummer like *I* am and this in itself is cool.

That sounds vague enough to justify a moral outrage. Pitchforks and pamphlets from the Westboro Baptist church will be handed out after the bonfire.
That which does not kill me, cripples me for life.

Millie's the anti-hero. So far she's shown us that individuality, integrity, intelligence and a who bundle of other things starting with 'i' only lead to trouble and despair.

I'm more of an Ozy fan myself, but I also feel that one of the big reasons this strip's quality has *ahem* delined a bit of late is because it used to be a great ensemble cast peice, and now it just seems to be "Mille says something weird and Ozy says something witty" routine.

Ozy is the straight man and as such he tends to be the one commenting on and observing Millie's antics. A strip without Ozy could work because nearly any other character can do his job but a strip without Millie would have to be completly differant.
