Well... as for the carnivorous thing... maybe the O&M world has something vaguely similar to K&K where they have a meat industry that goes out and hunts down semi wild animals and pack them for the city folks? Its too much to think about so just read comics and kiss your pet rock.

Will there be another race
To come along and take over for us?
Maybe martians could do
Better than we've done

We'll make great pets...

It would be interesting but I've noticed that in the vast majority of works with anthros in them get rid of most animals as they normally are. Hardly ever have I seen pets.

Remember the Cow? The one where a dragon tried to sell?

Maybe that's a sorta slave trade thing?

That or the Cow was just being used as a joke, and an anthro cow that can complain is more funny than selling a regular old cow.

Bugs. Insects. Little creepy-crawlies.

Unless there's, I dunno, talking bugs in the O&M world, they could have those as pets with a clear concience.

There was a talking butterfly once, but it seemed to be exceptional. Millie didn't expect it to say anything.

I can remember Timulty staring at a fly, and Avry said something about Timulty not watching "Survivor" or something.

I have wondered about this myself. I have not seen a single non-sentient mammal in this comic. Of course, that just confirms Flapwell's post. So, who knows? I guess it's not something important to the real purpose of Ozy and Millie: Humor.

Unless Millie asks the question "where do hamburgers come from" and then we can have a plot-revealing story similar to when DCS explained how Ozy was adopted.

Who knows?

One way is to make all mammals, and maybe birds too, sentient and everything else, reptiles, amphibians, fish etc, not.

But then how would we explain the Geico lizard?

Either a robot, or the amphibian equivalent of Christ.
